Anne Brown"This was one of Harold's favorite spots. He loved to come down here," says Anne Brown of her late husband, UVM Class of 1952, known to generations of Vermonters as a true country veterinarian. "Here" is the UVM Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge, which Anne has chosen as the beneficiary of the charitable gift annuities she has established in the family name.

"This is a treasure," she says, surveying the farm and its inhabitants. "People in Vermont don't know what they've got. To be able to help preserve it, for however long, I think that's a kind of rewarding thing to do." There are other advantages too, she points out. "At this point I'm at an age where my investments have got to keep me going. You know — the interest and all — it's attractive."
